This mural has been made in the Nieuw Gent neighborhood of the city of Gent, Belgium. It is a residential area of social housing, mostly inhabited by immigrant families, people with social exclusion problems or at risk of poverty. This mural represents the moment of transition that many families living in the neighborhood of Nieuw Ghent live, the need to live in the neighborhood as a last alternative or only option to their situation but at the same time, their desire and hope to get, one day, to live in a better place.

While all human beings have the right to housing, socioeconomic reality means that this need cannot be met by many individuals. The construction and administration of social housing also means a correction to the poor functioning of the real estate market, which leaves many people out.
